OSU Extension in Hardin County is hosting monthly sewing workshops between December and April for children in 3rd grade through adults. Students in 3rd-6th grades are encouraged to bring an adult helper with them. Class size is limited to 12 participants per workshop. Each workshop will cost $15 per person, with scholarships available if needed. Payment by cash, check, or credit/debit card is accepted in person at the OSU Extension Office in Hardin County.  Participants are asked to bring a sewing kit if they have one. Workshops will be held at the OSU Extension Office in Hardin County, located at 1021 W. Lima St., Kenton, OH 43326. The class schedule, topics, and projects are as follows:

  • December 8, 2024, 1:00-4:00 p.m. - Project: Table Runners; Skills learned: Bias & Patchwork

  • January 12, 2025 1:00-4:00 p.m. - Project: Flannel Pajama Pants; Skills learned: Elastic & Seams.

Register by: December 27th

  • February 9, 2025, 1:00-4:00 p.m. - Project: Cotton Tote Bag; Skills learned: Upcycling & Embellishment.

Register by: January 31st

  • March 9, 2025, 1:00-4:00 p.m. - Project: Zipper Pouch or Cell Phone Wristlet; Skills learned: Interfacing & Zippers.

Register by: February 28th

  • April 13, 2025, 1:00-4:00 p.m. - Project: Upcycling Jeans; Skills learned: Gathers & Patching.
