The Conservation Tillage & Technology Conference (CTC) will be held in- person March 14-15 at Ohio Northern University in Ada. This year’s conference will feature David Hula, four-time winner of the National Corn Growers Association Yield Contest and current record holder at 616 bushels per acre – all accomplished with no-till and strip-till. His presentation has been made possible by sponsors Brandt Professional Agriculture, Calmer Corn Heads, Pioneer Seeds, and Meristem Crop Performance.

Hardin County - The Hardin County Pork Producers will hold their annual Pork Banquet on Saturday, March 18 at Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative in Kenton, starting at 6:30 pm.

Hardin County - The Hardin County Sheep Improvement Association will hold their annual Lamb Banquet on Saturday, March 4 at St. John’s Evangelical Church in Kenton at 6:30 pm. Tickets for the banquet can be reserved from the Extension office by calling 419-674-2297 and paid for at the door the night of the banquet. Adult tickets are $20, Children (4-8 years old) $10, and 2022 Hardin County Junior Fair Sheep Exhibitors are free with a reservation given to the Extension office by February 24.

The Master Gardener Volunteers of Hardin County are delighted to present their annual Spring Garden Seminar “Something Old, New, Tried & True in the Garden” on Thursday, March 9th, 2023 at the Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative Community Room, 1210 W Lima Street in Kenton, Ohio. The program is from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, offering 6 continuing education hours. The cost is $40 for active OSU Extension MGVs and $50 for other gardeners. Hardin County – The Hardin County OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will host a Master Gardener Volunteer training course for new Master Gardener Volunteers this winter. The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested Ohio residents who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Ohio residents through their local Ohio State University Extension county office.

Hardin County – The 2023 Conservation Tillage Club breakfast program series will begin on Thursday, January 12 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mt. Victory. Each session will start at 7:30 am with a complimentary buffet breakfast followed by the program at 8:00 am. Other sessions will be held on January 26, February 9 and 23.

The special TEEN Edition of the Hardin County 4-H Newsletter has been released with opportunities for those members ages 13+.The Achievement Record is the gateway to all sorts of new adventures and awards for Hardin County youth. Amanda Raines, Hardin County 4-H Educator, recommends teens carefully read over the newsletter to decide what opportunities they may like to participate in. NEW in 2023, Hardin County Extension will award two seniors a $500.00 scholarship.
