  1. Bethany Cameron Inducted into Ohio 4-H Teen Hall of Fame

    Ohio 4-H Week was celebrated March 2-8 and culminated with 2025 Ohio 4-H Conference on March 8. At the Teen Luncheon, 4 Ohio 4-H Teens were inducted into the Ohio 4-H Teen Hall of Fame and 1 was named Teen of the Year. This included former Hardin Hi-Lighters 4-H member and current advisor, Bethany Cameron. Bethany has inspired her peers through her leadership, service, and achievement. Bethany has served in a variety of leadership roles at the county and state level and has given countless hours to community service projects as an active community advocate.

  2. Rainfall Reporter Needed in Buck Township

    We are in need of a new rainfall reporter for Buck Township.

    Rainfall reporting takes place from April 15-October 15 each year. Rainfall reporters collect daily rainfall measurements and report them to the Extension office on a monthly basis using reporting forms provided by the Extension office. Rain gauges are also provided.

    If you are interested in being the new reporter for Buck Township, please call the OSU Extension Office in Hardin County at 419-674-2297 any day Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.

  4. 2025 Goat Banquet Plans Set in Hardin County

    The sixth annual Hardin County Goat Banquet will be held on Saturday, April 5 at the Kenton Moose Lodge. The doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and the banquet will begin at 5:00 p.m. There is no charge to attend the banquet.

    Reservations need to be made by calling the OSU Extension office at 419-674-2297 by March 31.

  5. Poultry Banquet Date Set

    The 2025 Hardin County Poultry Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 29 at Missionary Alliance Church located at 15436 OH-309, Kenton, OH 43326. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the banquet will begin at 6:00 p.m.

  6. Hardin County Cattle Producers to Hold Banquet

    The annual Hardin County Beef Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 22 at the Hardin County Fair Community Building. The banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m.

  7. Plans Made for Hardin County Pork Producers Banquet

    Jan. 29, 2025

    The 2025 annual Hardin County Pork Banquet will be held on Sunday, March 23 at the Upper Scioto Valley School District’s auditorium. The banquet will begin at 5:30 p.m. Banquet tickets this year are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 18 and under, and exhibitors for free.

    Reservations need to be made by March 7 by calling a director of the Hardin County Pork Producers or by calling the OSU Extension office at 419-674-2297 with all tickets paid for at the door at the banquet.

    The menu for the Pork Banquet will consist of several pork dishes.

  8. Plans Made for Hardin County Lamb Banquet

    The 2025 annual Hardin County Lamb Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 1 at St. John’s Evangelical Church. The banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m. The meal will consist of various cuts of lamb. Attendees should arrive early to participate in a silent auction to benefit the scholarship program. Banquet tickets this year are $20 for adults, $10 for children and, exhibitors for free.

  9. Dairy Service Unit Scholarship Available

    The Hardin County Dairy Service Unit is offering a dairy scholarship. The application is available online at go.osu.edu/25scholarshipsandroyalty with applications due April 17.   10. Plans Set for Hardin County Horse Banquet

    The tenth annual Hardin County Horse Banquet will be held on Saturday, February 15 at the Kenton Moose Family Center. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a silent auction to raise funds for the scholarship and food will be served at 6:00 p.m. Banquet tickets this year are $12 for adults and $10 for ages 18 and under. A child’s meal is $6.50 with kid-friendly food.
