Three Hardin County 4-H members are being recognized with top honors as Ohio 4-H Achievement Award Winners. Chloe Anderson of the Boots and Buckles 4-H Club is the 2022 in photography. Grace Collins of the Town & Country Creators 4-H Club is the 2022 winner in personal development. Johannah Thacker of the Hardin Hi-Lighters 4-H Club is the 2022 in family life and child development. This is the first time in over a decade that Hardin County has had Ohio 4-H Achievement winners.

Amanda Raines attended the 2021 Epsilon Sigma Phi National Conference in Savannah, Georgia recently, and was recognized with the North Central Region Early Career Service Award. Raines is the 4-H Youth Development Educator in Hardin County. She specializes in mental health programming, providing Mental Health First Aid, Trauma Informed Approaches Training, and various 4-H teen and volunteer programs on mental health annually.

County Fair Champion Carcasses Evaluated - The Hardin County Carcass Show of Champions were evaluated Tuesday, September 21 at Jenkins Meats in Mt. Victory. Because of the pandemic, this year’s event was virtual and featured OSU Department of Animal Sciences Assistant Professor of Meat Science Dr. Lyda Garcia as the judge and she discussed the merits of the winning market livestock carcasses from the 2021 Hardin County Fair.
