    2026 Teen Newsletter

    All Hardin County 4-H members 14 and older are encouraged to complete the Ohio 4-H Achievement Record to be considered for teen opportunities, such as Leadership Camp, Sea Camp, and Shooting Sports Camp.  The Achievement Record is also the application for the Hardin County 4-H Scholarship, and all high school seniors should apply!

    The Achievement Record is due by January 23, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.

    The Ohio State University will be closed Dec. 24-Jan. 1. We look forward to spending time with our family and friends and observing the university’s winter academic recess.

  6. McBride Awarded "Friend of Extension" Award at Banquet

    On Monday, December 8, Jack McBride received the Friend of Extension award at the Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP) and Joint Council of Extension Professionals (JCEP) Awards Banquet. This award recognizes individuals who have a major impact on Extension work in their communities. It is our top honor given to non-Extension employees.

    Hardin County is lucky to have Jack supporting and serving alongside us! Congratulations, Jack!

  7. Office Closed on December 8 for Professional Development

    OSU Extension in Hardin County will be closed on Monday, December 8 so that our staff may attend a professional development meeting.

    Normal office hours will resume on Tuesday, December 9. Correspondence can be left by calling 419-674-2297 and following the prompts to leave a voicemail. You may also leave other correspondence in the mailbox outside of the building.

  9. February 3 is Hardin County Agronomy Night!

    Join us at the office on February 3 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for Hardin County Agronomy Night. The subject is tar spot. Attend this free event to learn more about tar spot, get new resources, and ask questions. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

  10. 2026 Hardin County Jr. Fair Board Applications Now Open

    Applications are currently open for the 2026 Hardin County Junior Fair Board.  We are seeking hard-working leaders to help us plan and facilitate the fair!

    Who can apply? Anyone currently in 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grade AND involved in at least one of these youth organizations: 4-H, FFA, FCCLA, High School Art, Youth Grange, Boy Scouts, or Girl Scouts.
