  2. Livestock Judging Appointments Available Now!

    Livestock Interview Judging will take place on August 7, 2025 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at the Hardin County Fairgrounds Community Building. Please use the links below to sign up for an appointment. Late judging will take place August 11-14 by appointment at the OSU Extension Office. All livestock exhibitors must attend interview judging in order to show their animal(s) at the fair.

  3. Office Closed on July 4 for Independence Day

    The OSU Extension office in Hardin County will be closed Thursday, July 3rd and Friday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. We will resume normal business hours on Monday, July 7. 

    If you have any questions or concerns, please leave a voicemail at 419-674-2297 and they will be answered as soon as possible upon our return. Any other correspondence may be left in the mailbox on the outside of the building.

  4. Fruit & Vegetable Production Crop Walk Scheduled for July 9!

    Interested in fruit and vegetable production? Join us on Wednesday, July 9 at 6:00 p.m. at the farm of Daniel Hostetler, 21613 CR 200, Mt. Victory, OH 43340 to discuss pests in vegetable production, raspberry production in Ohio, and integrated vegetable disease management with experts from Ohio State University. Please see the flyer below for more details!

  6. Master Gardener Volunteers to Hold Summer Program Series!

    Plan to join the Master Gardener Volunteers for their summer program series starting on June 17! All 3 dates will take place at the Friendship Gardens, located at 960 W. Kohler St., Kenton, beginning at 6 p.m. The Friendship Gardens are located behind the former HARCO Workshop building. Parking will available at the gardens. See the flyer below for more details!

    Hardin County Master Gardener Volunteers are set to host An Evening Garden Affair on Monday, June 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hardin County Friendship Gardens, located at 960 W. Kohler St. in Kenton, just behind the former HARCO Workshop Building. See the flyer below for details! 

    Please note that there will be overflow parking in the Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District parking lot. Simon Kenton School building has a fan but no air conditioning, so please dress accordingly.
