  1. Master Gardener Volunteer Training Offered

    Hardin County – The Hardin County OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will host a Master Gardener Volunteer training course for new Master Gardener Volunteers this winter. The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested Ohio residents who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Ohio residents through their local Ohio State University Extension county office.

  2. Conservation Tillage Club

    Hardin County – The 2023 Conservation Tillage Club breakfast program series will begin on Thursday, January 12 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mt. Victory. Each session will start at 7:30 am with a complimentary buffet breakfast followed by the program at 8:00 am. Other sessions will be held on January 26, February 9 and 23.

    A class to help farmers prepare to become private pesticide applicators has been planned for January 19, 2023 at the Hardin County Extension office in Kenton.

  4. 4-H Teen Opportunities - 2023 Achievement Record Form Information

    The special TEEN Edition of the Hardin County 4-H Newsletter has been released with opportunities for those members ages 13+.The Achievement Record is the gateway to all sorts of new adventures and awards for Hardin County youth. Amanda Raines, Hardin County 4-H Educator, recommends teens carefully read over the newsletter to decide what opportunities they may like to participate in. NEW in 2023, Hardin County Extension will award two seniors a $500.00 scholarship.

  5. Market Beef Weigh-In Dec. 31

    Weigh-in for all 2023 market beef projects is scheduled for Saturday, December 31 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Hardin County Fairgrounds.  This weigh-in is mandatory for all market beef projects. 

  6. Hardin County Homemaker's Prepare for Annual Christmas Program

    Hardin County Homemakers are inviting local women to their Christmas Program "A Flurry of Fun" on December 6 from 9 am - 3pm at the Ada First UMC. Cost for the program and lunch is $10. Reservations can be made by calling 937-464-5691 no later than November 30.

    Program highlights: "Santa's Alphabet" play, Ada Varsity Singers, Twelve Tastes of Christmas using Charcuterie Boards, Let's Make a Placemat, and Installation of Officers.

    The Hardin County Agriculture Hall of Fame has named those who will be inducted at the annual banquet to be held December 6 in Kenton. Tickets are available through November 28

  8. Hardin County Educators Participate in WOSU National Initiative "Facing Suicide."

    WOSU Public Media is participating in the national initiative “Facing Suicide” that harnesses the power of public media to destigmatize the topic of suicide and equip friends and family to take appropriate action when someone close to them may be at risk. Participating in this inititive were 4-H Educator, Amanda Raines and Family and Consumer Science Educator, Jami Dellifield, Ohio State University Extension, Hardin County, and 4-H member, Grace Collins.
