Applications are currently open for the 2026 Hardin County Junior Fair Board. We are seeking hard-working leaders to help us plan and facilitate the fair!
Who can apply? Anyone currently in 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grade AND involved in at least one of these youth organizations: 4-H, FFA, FCCLA, High School Art, Youth Grange, Boy Scouts, or Girl Scouts.

The goal of the Ohio Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program is to increase the competitive base for marketing Ohio cattle. BQA is a program to ensure that beef and dairy cattle are maintained in a manner which will result in a safe and wholesome beef product for the consumer. This program serves as an opportunity to gain or renew your existing certification (certification cycle is 3 years).

OSU Extension in Hardin County will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28.
We will return to the office on Monday, December 1.

On December 2, 2025 the Hardin County Homemakers will be holding their annual Christmas program. Our program will be held at Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, located at 15436 State Route 309, Kenton, OH. The Homemakers and OSU Extension staff are furnishing a lunch to include chicken and rice casserole, green beans, Hawaiian sweet rolls, cinnamon Red Hots applesauce Jello salad, assorted Christmas cookies, and either water or coffee. The theme this year will be "It's Time to Decorate the Tree". Included in the day's activities:

Inductees for the 2025 Hardin County Agriculture Hall of Fame have been selected by the Hall of Fame committee. The 2025 inductees will include Bert C. Frederick (posthumously), Gary Flinn, Gary Jackson, Gene McCluer, and Max Montgomery (posthumously). The awards banquet will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 6:30 PM at St. John’s Evangelical Church, 211 East Carrol Street, Kenton.
