Ohio State University Extension, Hardin County will offer two Safe Sitter® classes for young teens, grades 4-8, June 8, 2023 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and July 13 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the OSU Extension Office, 1021 West Lima Street, Suite 103, Kenton, OH 43326. Registration deadlines are June 2 for the June 8 class and July 7 for the July 13 class.

It’s time once again to get your hands dirty and start growing! The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and Ohio State University Extension offices are kicking off the fourth year of the Ohio Victory Gardens program. Due to high demand, the program has expanded to include 50, up from 42 counties last year. Thousands of seed sample kits are available for free to the public to get people planting.

Ohio State University Extension, Hardin County is seeking business and individual sponsors for their 4-H youth and family Cultural Immersion Experience to Chicago, Illinois--June 16-19, 2023, The 56 participants would appreciate your financial support, and ask you to please consider becoming a trip sponsor. Fundraising efforts will last through May 15th to help make the trip accessible and affordable for everyone.

The fourth annual Hardin County Goat Banquet will be held on Sunday, April 23 at the Family Center of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church located at 15436 State Route 309 in Kenton. Registration and seating will open at 4:30 pm with the public invited and the meal will begin at 5:00 pm. There is no cost, as each family is asked to bring a side dish and/or dessert. The main dish, drinks, and table service will be provided.
