Three Hardin County 4-H members are being recognized with top honors as Ohio 4-H Achievement Award Winners. Chloe Anderson of the Boots and Buckles 4-H Club is the 2022 in photography.  Grace Collins of the Town & Country Creators 4-H Club is the 2022 winner in personal development.  Johannah Thacker of the Hardin Hi-Lighters 4-H Club is the 2022 in family life and child development. This is the first time in over a decade that Hardin County has had Ohio 4-H Achievement winners.

Each year, Ohio 4-H selects achievement winners in 27 different project and activity categories. Winners are selected based on their project work, 4-H participation, major 4-H honors and awards, community service, leadership, and school/community involvement. Youth must complete the Ohio 4-H Achievement Record to apply.  The applications are judged at the county level and one youth from each county can be sent on to state judging per category. Ohio 4-H Achievement Winners at the state level receive the opportunity to serve as an Ohio delegate to National 4-H Congress in the fall. Over 800 youth from around the United States and its territories will gather in Atlanta, Georgia to participate in a program of educational, service, and recreation opportunities.
